E-Mail FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How do I set up 2 email boxes in Windows 95?

Using Eudora Pro or Light only, Internet mail is not capable of creating more than one mailbox;
Create the two new directories by:
1.Opening Windows Explorer ( Click on START, PROGRAMS, WINDOWS, EXPLORER ) 2.Highlight the drive you want to create
the new directory under by left clicking on it once
3.Click "File"
4.Then "New"
5.Then "Folder"

Now scroll down the right window in Windows Explorer, you will find a new folder named "New Folder" it should already be
selected for editing, just name it whatever you like, I named mine "billhmail". Repeat the above for as many directories
that you wish to add.
1.Turn on your computer ( Sorry.... Couldn't resist )
2.Install the Eudora Software package.
3.Start Windows Explorer
4.Go into the directory where "Eudora.exe" lives. If you don't know where it is try C:\EUDORA first, if it's not there then use
the File Find utility from START, FIND.
5.In the right Windows Explorer window select "Eudora.exe" by left clicking on it once.
6.Right Click on "Eudora.exe"
7.Select "Create Shortcut"
8.The new shortcut will appear at the bottom of that box, drag it onto your desk top.
9.Right Click on the new Shortcut Icon for Eudora ( now on the desk top )
10.Select Rename
11.Rename it to whatever you like, (other than what it was created as.) I renamed mine "Bills Secret Personal Email" just
to drive my wife nuts :)
12.Right Click on the Eudora Icon you just renamed
13.Select Properties
14.Click the "Shortcut tab"
15.Locate the "Target Field"
16.In the target field will be the current location of the "Eudora.exe" Application. Append the new directory information to the end of it complete with drive and path information.
Example:
Originally it looked like this
Target : C:\Eudora\EUDORA.EXE
I changed it to look like this
Target : C:\Eudora\EUDORA.EXE c:\billhmail
17.Click "OK"
18.Double click the new shortcut Icon we just created.
19.Eudora will start as though it was starting for the first time
20.Click "Tools","Options"
21.Set up your information. Click the "Getting Started Icon" I set the following:
22.POP Account: billh@chesco.com
23.Real Name: Bill Hamel
24.Click the "Hosts" Icon.
25.SMTP: carriage.chesco.com
26.Click "OK"
27.Select "File"
28."Check Mail"
29.Enter your password
30.Your done
